Stringing Beads

We've been working on stringing beads lately using O's snake bead stringer that was a baby shower gift. Its made by Ryan's Room, and we really love it. The beads are wooden and nicely made. O has a little trouble stringing the big beads, but she's learning. Somehow my Kleen Kanteen jumped into this picture. I LOVE that thing!

  1. Melissa,
When O gets to the point where you want her to start stringing macaroni, pony sized beads, and cut straws on yarn to make necklaces, use this trick! Dangle the end of your yarn pieces in a bottle of glue, wipe off the excess and hang to dry over night. This is a great CHEAP alternative to make the yarn easy to string. The glue makes the yarn unfrayable and surprisingly hard. I make several at a time because Josh just loves to make necklaces. I actually started making shorter lengths of yarn and now we just call them snakes because he was going through so many beads!
