O and my 5 year old niece were coloring in a big coloring book on the floor. M was coloring a picture, and O was coloring on the back, blank side of a coloring sheet. I overheard M tell O proudly "I'm coloring in the lines, and you are just doing scribble scrabble." Just as I was about to assure O that her "scribble scrabble" was beautiful, she confidently said "Scribble scrabble is good for my brain!" Good girl!

  1. way to go, O! That is so great. Thanks for sharing.

  2. good on you O!!! And very true too - I just did a post on brain gym and they have a scribble activity which is good for right and left hand side brain activity. he he.

Gorgeous comment. Obviously totally comfortable in her being - you have done a great job! (:

    Always enjoy your posts.

  3. Great job O! Scribble-Scrabble is wonderful for your brain!

  4. Awesome!! Good girl. And yes Scribble Scrabble is good for everybody's brains!! :)

  5. You know, I've seen so many mothers demanding their children color inside the lines, or "color neatly," and I've even seen mothers "finish" a piece for a child, so it was colored "nicely."

I NEVER taught Benjamin to color within the lines. Scribble scrabble is indeed good!

  6. J and C went through this exact phase. Charlie would just cry. I'm glad O knows how to stick up for herself!
