Sick Kids

My girls are sick, and they've both just had their first antibiotics EVER! I know we are so lucky that they have been so healthy so far, but the last 2 weeks have been rough. We've been trying to fight their colds naturally, and they were both doing better for a while. Then they both started coughing more on Tuesday and last night was terrible. We took them to the doctor this morning...it was O's first EVER sick visit to the doctor, and she is almost 4 years old. I'm hoping that the antibiotics will work their magic quickly, so my girls can feel good again very soon!

  1. I'm sorry your girls are sick! My little ones have been battling the same thing for the past couple of weeks. I hope they get better soon!

  2. If they get sore tummies then natural yoghurt with all the bacteria still included (organic yoghurt usually does) will stop them from felling extra bad on top of the coughs. Bad luck - I hope they feel better soon.

I can totally understand the difficulties of giving our children things we don't want to when we aren't sure what else to do.
My little one got an X-Ray before her first birthday!!! >>>.<<< I gave her a lot of seaweed(which she loves) after that one!

All the best to you and your girls!!

  5. I hope your gals feel better soon. I know that it's sometimes hard to accept the intervention; our first born had horrible ear infections--sometimes asymptomatic--and we resisted surgery for as long as we thought we could. But after a never ending infection from September to December, we bit the bullet and had the tubes put in. We've been infection free since.

But still, I really sometimes wish it had been intervention free.

  6. Poor kids! We had a rough winter that resulted in a sick visit and antibiotics, too - our first. Have them eat a lot of live culture yogurt to stave off yeast infections, especially the little one still nursing. The yeast infection was almost worse than the pneumonia!

  7. anytime anyone takes antibiotics they should also be taking some good probiotics. acidophilus is good, like that found in yogurt, but a good probiotic would be even better. taken in between antibiotic doses. hope they're feeling better soon! i had a round of antibiotics recently too, maybe my 3rd ever!

  9. Sorry the girls were sick and glad they are on the mend. When my little one starts to feel bad or begins to get sick, we head to our chiropractor. Its amazing the difference it makes. My son feels and acts all better within hours. The theory is that when the body is in alignment it can function properly and spend its energy doing other things. I'm amazed at the difference its made!!
