Running out of Room

I'm running out of blog space :( I keep having to go back to old posts and delete pictures. I guess I could stop putting so many pictures in my posts, but the pictures are my favorite parts. If I can't have a picture filled blog, then I don't want a blog at all! So...if you read any old posts and notice missing pictures that's why :(

  1. Oh no! I didn't know I had a space limit. I guess I should monitor that too.

  2. Do you shrink your pics before you post them? That might help save some room???

  3. I do shrink them, and that has helped. Unfortunately, both of my blogs are under the same account, and the other one has a lot more pics than this one does. I'm sure I'll have to delete more pics in the next couple of days :(

  4. Say what? You don't get much space? Geez louise. That's nuts! I have tons of articles and pics at www.firstimpressionsbaby.com/blog, and I'm still going. That's weird. I WAS on blogger too (but just moved) and it never told me it was getting full. Pictures rock

  6. What a bummer! Any chance of moving to one of the other hosts? I'm not certain what the different limits are. Maybe set up a free picture hosting place and link the pictures in your posts in "archive". GL!

  8. Hi, maybe try to use Flickr for uploading your pictures and then there is an icon over each of your pictures that says: 'Blog it'. You just need to set up your blogger details.

  9. I have never heard of such a thing! You JUST have to keep it going just like always. I do not like changes to things I love. Should we call Barak or Hillary or McCain for you!!?!! How did you find out about this? I never thought that the internet was like paper. I guess I think that it goes on and on. Don't worry, Melissa, we'll all do something for you. Tell O to have a wonderful and beautiful day, you too, of course!

  10. How can you be running out of room? I've blogged for almost 4 years--with lots of photos--and I'm still only at 17% capacity with Blogger.

Are you using high resolution photos? If so, that may be the culprit. After editing I save my photos under the "best for web" setting. They're not as crisp as the high-res, but they load much faster for readers and take less space.

  11. Thanks for the comments and suggestions everybody! I think the problem is that when I 1st started blogging 2 years ago, I didn't resize my pictures. I guess I need to go back and resize a year's worth of pics, and maybe that would fix the problem. Uggggg! That will be a job! I've just been slowly deleting a few at a time, so I'd have room to add more, but I do need a more permanent solution. Its VERY frustrating to try to do a quick post and have it not work do to no more space. The flickr idea is a good one. I have a flickr account, but I've only uploaded 1 or 2 photos to it. I'll have to look into that further. Thanks, again!!!

  12. OH NO!! I just got here (from Meredith's blog) and though "I need to go read all her past stuff" :)

I agree about trying Flickr for now until you get the time to go back and resize. Flickr makes it REALLY easy to post pics to the blog.

  14. OH NO! I'm using your site practically as a curriculum for my little munchkins (and I'm back at the beginning)...your pictures are part of what make it all make sense.

  15. Flickr is a good idea, but you can use any picture hosting site. Once your picture is stored, you just link it to the post instead of uploading it. This is actually better than hosting it with Blogger because if you ever decide to move your blog the pictures will go with you.

  16. Hove you tried flickr? I use them to host my pictures and they are much crisper and sharp when I post them to blogger. You get 200 free uploads a month. (If you top that, you can always upload with blogger like you do now, but then you've saved yourself all that space.)
