Thanks to Amy at Let's Explore for this great tangram activity and links! To make this activity I printed the small tangram pattern and used it to cut tangrams out of craft foam. I put magnets on the backs of the pieces, so they would stay in place and be less frustrating for my girl. I printed the animal tangram pics, laminated them, cut them, and hooked them together using a book ring. Everything fit nicely in a zipper pouch. O is a little young (almost 3) to do tangrams on her own, but we've had fun doing it together. I'm planning on taking this activity on our upcoming beach trip.
Also, check out Let's Explore for free shipping on orders more than 25 dollars! I love a good deal on shipping :)
I like your idea for storing the tangrams! It would be easy for my kids to take out and clean up themselves!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I used to LOVE tangrams when I was younger! I love that you cut them out of foam, much more practical than plain old paper! I will have to add them to our to do list, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I'd love to make this. Have wanted to buy something similar for a long time! Thank you for posting. So sorry that someone would steal your photos. It's posts like this that will make me sad if you stop blogging. A prayer of peace for you this day.
ReplyDeletei didnt realize you could comment... that is sooooo awful about the drama - i cant believe that she did that (isnt that false advertising? if i sent my kid to her, id want to know her website was plagiurized!) ... personally, i hope you dont pull your blog - and so do my kids! We've had soooo much fun stealing your ideas!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to put magnets on the back so they can't move. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I think I might even make some for gifts. Now I just need to buy my own laminator ;-). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCould you tell me - where did you get that pouch for storing the tangrams? It's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteDo you have your own laminator? If not, how do you laminate your projects?
ReplyDeleteI really hope you keep blogging by the way - I love your ideas.
The pouch came from either the dollar tree or Walmart. I've also found them at Target.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have my own laminator, and I LOVE it! This is the one I have

I like the idea of tangrams, but I'm horrible at them! I just can't visualize things like that. Pattern blocks are more my speed. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't leave blogland altogether- I love seeing all of your cool activities.
The pouch is a 3-ring-binder pencil pouch, often found during school supply stimes. I had a green one like it growing up.
ReplyDeleteit is Sunny Arky from CROXWORD Corporation.
ReplyDeleteOur TANGRAM is with the BLISTER PACKAGE, and your kid can learn to store the TANGRAM at the package. However, we are Taiwan manufacture. We still work out to find an USA agent there.
