After the place the tees where they want you can put rubber bands over them or wind yarn/ribbon around them. Although, golf tees make me a little nervous since she sometimes put things in her mouth. For some reason, they scare me more than real nails.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08382299215040850847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536964614643414021.post-35406216922138990352011-05-12T15:51:29.318-04:002011-05-12T15:51:29.318-04:00We have some tree stumps in our yard and my boys w...We have some tree stumps in our yard and my boys would love doing this. I like the wooden hammer your little one has - it seems like a safe alternative to a real one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536964614643414021.post-75395675132403730792011-05-12T10:26:38.188-04:002011-05-12T10:26:38.188-04:00My parents built their house from scratch too, usi...My parents built their house from scratch too, using the trees that they cut from the site. They built a log cabin though, so they didn't make their own boards. Good luck to your dad!
Also, that sounds like a great thing for kids to do to practice eye-hand coordination.Fun Mama - Deannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13482181499301423093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536964614643414021.post-74127883568241867942011-05-12T08:21:51.329-04:002011-05-12T08:21:51.329-04:00I actually think it is a GREAT activity! I wouldn't change a thing for the older one though. With proper education and the right tools she is perfectly capable of hammering in a nail. :)

(Okay, maybe I should have read the other two comments who suggested the same thing as me!)Evanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16173438261924976156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536964614643414021.post-90564977537617271912011-05-11T23:13:24.717-04:002011-05-11T23:13:24.717-04:00This is fabulous. With little ones I've done this with golf tees and dirt, and it works great!rachelle | tinkerlabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13253802741152523654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536964614643414021.post-91202423352885660442011-05-11T21:22:39.803-04:002011-05-11T21:22:39.803-04:00Great hand-eye coordination! We've done a tee/foam hammering activity and Henry enjoyed taking out the tees more than hammering them in too - must be something about it :)

I can't believe your dad is making the boards himself! Super DIY man! :)

JamieJamie @ hands on : as we growhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17029233214492183266noreply@blogger.com
