I had leftover plywood and paint, so I made a couple more chalkboards yesterday. They are smaller than the original one, and I'll put one of them on our deck next to O's new playhouse (I'll post about this soon, I hope!). The 2nd one is for my niece. You can't really tell in the picture, but the border is aqua. I hope the girls like them!
once you make one your addicted! i plan to make some for my niece and nephews for part of their christmas gifts! i'd love to buy the magnet paint to do underneatha nd make them magnetic chalkboards!
ReplyDeleteWe need directions! I LOVE your Blog BTW!!! Thanks for all the great suggestions-very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteShannon- Good idea to make it magnetic!
ReplyDeleteNicole- It very easy! Buy a piece of treated (if you plan to keep it outside) plywood. Sand it if needed. Prime it with Kilz. It took 2 to 3 coats for mine. Then paint it with 2 coats of chalkboard paint. I taped off the edges with masking tape, so I would have a border. Let me know if you try it!
You are my Hero. Thank you so much for all the great stuff you post. You have inspired me and my L loves the new things to try. We will do the chalkboards in the next few days. Keep those great Ideas coming.
