This old phone is always a hit with babies and toddlers. E loves to pretend to talk on it, and O makes calls to her imaginary friend with it. I'm actually a little surprised that they recognize that it's a phone...it looks so different from the phones we use now :) I guess I should show them a record player. That would really blow their minds!
I have the Fisher price play phone too and I had the same thought - how do they know its a phone when their idea of a phone is mommy and daddy's blackberries?
How cute! I find in my class the kids ALL want any cell phone they can get. They don't show much interest in home phones but I haven't tried a dial phone (other than the fisher price one everyone else it talking about). I know fisher price makes kids record players as well but they only come with five or six different records.
I actually have two rotary phones for my little one and she's a huge fan. Only thing is that they weigh a TON! :>)
ReplyDeleteWe have the old Fisher Price "chatter" phone with the eyes that move when you pull it. My boys love it! They also love our old, old typewriter!
ReplyDeleteThey probably recognise it as a phone from the picture books we read. Nearly all of ours have these 20 year old phones in them... :D
