Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and support. All of the comments and emails have been wonderfully supportive to our family.
Elliott will have to have surgery to remove the brain tumor. The surgery needs to be soon. I have taken up the full-time job of researching to make the decision as to which hospital and surgeon are the best fit for him. I've been on the phone, computer, or at neurologists appt almost constantly since Monday. I'm looking forward to tumor free brain for Elliott and a nice vacation for all of us once we get on the other side of this. I can't wait to breathe that huge sigh of relief.
Somehow I missed your last post, and I don't comment often, but I wanted to say that I'm sorry your family is facing this uncertainty and I hope that your husband's surgery happens quickly and is successful. I'm sending peaceful thoughts for you and your family as you navigate this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for strength and healing.
ReplyDeleteMy 32 year old brother had a seizure at work on Halloween and after an MRI, we learned he had a brain tumor. I remember the emotions and stress like it was yesterday. His was cancer. They removed all that they could (they said they can never garuntee it is all out), he did 3 months of radiation, and he is now doing a year of chemo pills. It's been crazy. But he just had his first post op scan and it came back totally clear!
ReplyDeleteHere's my post about his surgery date:

Hi, really sorry that this has happened, but God willing he will make a full recovery. A good friend of mine discovered a lump in her head, it was initially diagnosed as a cyst, but after months of getting bigger it was finally diagnosed as a benign tumour. They estimated that it had been growing for 30 years, since she was a child. She had surgery some months later and has since made a full recovery.
ReplyDeletePraying that you will be having the celebratory vacation soon xxx
Will say prayers for your family. keep your head up and take each day one at a time. God is good.

ReplyDeleteI'm a little biased since I work for St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, but I (highly) recommend Barrow Neurological Institute. They are amazing. http://www.thebarrow.org/index.htm
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear the news! I will keep you all in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI hear amazing things about MD Anderson (a hospital in TX). One of my friends had a (benign) brain tumor removed there 5 years ago. She is very healthy now.
Best of luck and please keep us updated!
