Styrofoam Sculpture

The idea to do a styrofoam sculpture came from Young at Art by Susan Striker. I was so glad that we finally received biodegradable styrofoam with a recently shipped purchase. We glued a few pieces of styrofoam to the cardboard, and then we just wet the styrofoam so it would stick to the other pieces to form the sculpture. This was a fun family art activity that we all enjoyed working on together.

  1. We tried doing this a while back, but I don't think we had the right type of peanuts as they didn't stick when wet. It was still fun to use glue though.

I'll be on the lookout for bio-degradable packing peanuts so we can try this again. Just curious- did your sculpture stay together once it dried?
