We started off by filling several containers with water.
Then they made grass soup...this is a favorite daily activity. They serve it dry and/or wet.
We started adding dirt to the water to make mud. I was the designated dirt digger at one point.
Both girls eventually ended up in the container of mud.
Afte the girls tired of the mud, we put the waterhose on the slide to make a waterslide. Then I "chased" them with the water while they ran all around the yard. What a simple and fun afternoon!
If there is anything better than mud, I'd like to know what it is:-)
ReplyDeleteWow you giys are having so much fun! We did a mud kitchen last year. I set up a table with sawhorses and put out bowls and measuring cup and spoons, ect. Then I gave then a huge pan of dirt and a pitcher of water. I also let then pick flowers out of the yard as well. They made cakes, and soup and all sorts of stuff! :) It was super fun!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that I love your blog and read it as often as I can.
ReplyDeleteMud day sounds fantastic- I'm a teacher and was known to encourage the odd mud day too. In fact we used to read the book 'Wombat Stew' and make our very own variation. I think your girls would love it :)
way to let them get messy!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's much my boys love than getting wet & dirty - except doing them together. Mud play is a favorite around here!
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks so fun!! It makes me want to play in the mud, too!
ReplyDeleteWould love if you came over to link this up to our new Outdoor Play linky tomorrow!
