This woodsey playset is one of my all time favorite toys from my childhood. I remember asking my mom to read the book that went along with it over and over again. I'm SO glad that my mom saved this playset and now my girls get to enjoy it (it makes a nice fairy house!). For those of you whose moms didn't save all of your childhood toys, you can find this playset on ebay :)
Ohhhhhhhhh, I had this glowworm, too (the purple one) and this doll. I need to go up in the attic to find the rest of my toys!
My mom still has this at her house from when I was little. My boys love it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! I had forgotten about that toy until I saw this post, I had one just like that and it was such a favourite!! We have moved so much I no longer have my old toys...but thanks for the cute memory!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy Thanksgiving!
OMG! I remember those! I wonder if my mom still has it....
ReplyDeleteDo the animals make a squeaking noise when you squeeze them? I remember playing with this with my sister on Christmas morning. Our grandmother must have been annoyed by the squeaks because she told us there were only a certain number of squeaks in each squirrel and if we used them all up the first day, they'd be broken!
ReplyDeleteI found this at a garage sale years ago, but my kids didn't play with it much. I didn't realize there was a book to go along with it! Maybe I should pull it out again for the youngest. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteWhat memeories!!! I had one of these as a kid and LOVED IT! So glad your daughter is enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteWe recently visited friends with grown-up children, and they pulled this set and the book out of the closet for my daughter to play with. She played with it for hours!
ReplyDeleteMy mom still has mine too!
ReplyDeleteBy the way - ours sold on ebay for $20. I miss it and I never even had one as a kid! Something about it is very sweet.
ReplyDeleteI used to have this and still remember it as one of my favorite toys! My mom recently discovered the book in her attic, but sadly told me that she had thrown out the toy long ago. I loved seeing a picture of it on your blog! Maybe I"ll find one on ebay to go with the book and give it to my daughter.
