The idea for this visual stimulation/texture wall for Little Kicker's room has been bouncing around in my head for a while, and I'm glad to finally have it finished and on the wall.
To make the wall, I put fabrics of various prints and textures in embroidery hoops. We covered a stretched canvas with a white sheet and stapled it to the back of the canvas. We attached the embroidery hoops with embroidery thread. I wanted the hoops to be easily removable so that I can take the hoops down for Little Kicker to see and feel. I also plan to change the fabric fairly often.

This might be a weird question. But I wanted to make this for my kids too:) Is it ok if its not a white background. I have a large piece of green felt. Can I use that?

I love this and really want to make one as well. I am just not sure how you get the hoops to hang on the wall. I am fairly new to this so if you could explain a little more, I would appreciate it.
Wow this is a really great idea, I wish I had seen it when my toddler was an infant! I guess there's always hope to accomplish this project before baby number two! I would probably do hoops with some burlap and the fabric with the little chenille balls on it for some different textures...I LOVE the patterns you chose - how cute!
