O and my 5 year old niece were coloring in a big coloring book on the floor. M was coloring a picture, and O was coloring on the back, blank side of a coloring sheet. I overheard M tell O proudly "I'm coloring in the lines, and you are just doing scribble scrabble." Just as I was about to assure O that her "scribble scrabble" was beautiful, she confidently said "Scribble scrabble is good for my brain!" Good girl!
way to go, O! That is so great. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeletetoo cute!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've seen so many mothers demanding their children color inside the lines, or "color neatly," and I've even seen mothers "finish" a piece for a child, so it was colored "nicely."
ReplyDeleteI NEVER taught Benjamin to color within the lines. Scribble scrabble is indeed good!
Cute, and very true!
ReplyDeleteJ and C went through this exact phase. Charlie would just cry. I'm glad O knows how to stick up for herself!
