O is VERY interested in tape lately. She loves to pull out long strips of tape, cut them with her scissors, and then arrange them on her paper. I thought about buying tape in different colors, but she's so absorbed by the clear tape that I decided not to rock the boat :)
my daughter (29 mos) loves tape too - she calls it "snicky tape" and she asks for it whenever something tears. "oh no, need snicky tape!" heheReplyDelete
My daughter likes tape, as well as coloring/painting over it to see the different patterns and textures. Fun stuff!ReplyDelete
My 3-year-old is tape-obsessed! I've never really understood the appeal, but it's interesting to see that other kids are so fascinated with it, too.ReplyDelete
We love tape too, masking tape, putting lines on the floor walking along, driving along. How about putting tape on some card, letting O paint it then peel of the tape (masking tape for this).ReplyDelete
I was going to suggest showing O the "resist" technique, but Rainbowmommy beat me to it!ReplyDelete
Also, you can have O do a tape collage. I'm sure you have more types of tape at home than you realize if you have a handy husband with a tool box --- clear, masking tape, blue painters tape, electrical tape, silver duct tape, packing tape, etc.
we can get pretty paper tape, easy to rip, and ebi-kun loves it.ReplyDelete
