Fun with a Gum Container

While at work last week, I noticed a gum container that one of my friend's had.  She noticed me eyeing it and offered me a piece of gum.  I declined, but I told her that I really liked the container.  She emptied her gum into a bag and gave me the container.  It's the perfect container for E!  She loves it!  While my mom and I were sewing, I gave her the container and a cup of small spools.  She loved putting the spools into the container.  Fun times!

She really enjoyed opening and closing the container, too.

  3. I have no idea what brand of gum it is, but I'll try to find out...I go back to work next week, so I'll ask my friend if I don't figure it out before then.

  4. I just LOVE your blog!! I am a grandmother of a 14 month old little boy and have had such fun trying some of your simplest activities and homemade toys. They just fit so well with my beliefs about keeping it simple, while staying away from so many of the common cheaply made plastic toys. You have inspired me to read as much as I can about the Montessori methods and to continue introducing new things. Keep up the great work or should I say - fun!

  5. I'm very tempted to buy a container of Kraft Parmesan just for the container--- I've seen so many activities using one and we use real wedges of cheese. Lol! Maybe I'll have to put the word out and see if any family members buy it. Earlier in the year I put out feelers for cat litter containers for my dh's bucket panniers for his trike--- we got lots and they're really useful containers!

  6. People always laugh at me when I save things like this. Then, I show them our blog and they see the purchase. I think it was stride gum? Or mentos....

  9. Oooooo! My Mom eats that kind of gum! Will have to pass along a request to keep her containers. No spools here so maybe will have to use bottle tops? Hmmm, what will fit. :-)
