2) Peel off the backing and place the pattern on your fabric. Press firmly so it will stick to the fabric.

3) Cut the pattern out of the fabric.
4) Peel the paper off the back of the pattern and place it on your t-shirt.

5) Iron the pattern for 10 to 15 seconds twice or follow the directions that come with your applique paper.
6) You're finished! Show your child her new shirt and enjoy her excited reaction!

awesome! i'm not very crafty, but i can do that!
I have to admit that I felt a little silly doing a tutorial since it's so easy :) I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I'm a little addicted to appliqueing right now. I'm constantly on the search for inexpensive t-shirts :)
Oh thank you!!! This is just my type of thing. Looks nice and easy! Ill have to give it a whirl.
Thanks again!
I didn't know applique could be so easy! I will definitely be trying this.
i didn't know applique was this easy either! i can't wait to go searching for shirts & material tomorrow!
Sorry, having trouble posting!
LOVE THIS!! Thanks!
PS. Walmart has some great solid color t's right now for $3.50!
Thanks! This looks like something I can handle. Any special washing instructions once you're done?
I'm SO glad you posted this! I needed the step by step directions. I may even try to sew a finishing zig zag stick around the outside. I think initial onsies are such a cute baby gift!
Thanks Melissa,
I can't wait to try this.
I had NO idea appliques were that easy! Thanks for the "how-to"!
very cute
Oh wow! I had no idea appliques were SO easy!! And I'm so glad you posted the tutorial - when I saw the library bag first, my thought was - now how am I going to do that? LOL
Thanks so much!!
Now that it has been awhile I can ask. Do they last? Does the edge stay nice without finishing it in some manner?
The ones that we wash inside out and on delicate look fine. Unfortunately, we washed the butterfly shirt with our clothes and didn't turn it inside out, so it frayed a little :(
Of course, it will last much longer if you sew the edges. It's just SO much easier and faster to not sew the edges :)
