Activity Bags

I love putting activities in bags to take on vacations. I was excited that I was able to fit 19 small, paperback books in a zippered pouch! We don't have to worry about not having enough to read next week :)

Most of the books are free books that came in Cheerios boxes, a few are from Chick Fil A, and the princess series is from Avon.

Here are a few more activities that we'll take with us on vacation. I also plan to add a sewing cards bag.

See more on our activity bags here and here.

  2. I really like your activity bags. Do you keep them set up all the time, or just put them together to take with you? I was wondering how you store them.

  3. Oh now that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of doing that before our vacation. I wish I had!

  4. Michie- I leave them hanging on the front of our Montessori shelf so she can access them at any time. However, she is completely uninterested in them unless I take them on a vacation. Maybe they are just too low on the pegboard, and she forgets about them...

  5. That is such a great idea to put them in pencil pouches. We're headed out on a vacation this week so I might need to go to the store and pick some of those up.

  6. What a great idea.

As a relatively new reader of your blog, I was wondering how old O is now? (I am trying to get a benchmark so tht I can work out how old she was in activities past)

I am so saddened to hear about all of your blog happening of late. What is wrong with some people...don't you wonder how they can sleep at night?! I hope with all my heart that this "person" does not at all influence your Amazing Blog. Melissa, you are a true inspiration to so many Mamas and Grandmamas. I could not bear it if you stopped sharing. Please, please, do whatever it takes to keep your sweet images of O safe and secure.
I Love Your "activity bags" and have made some for my grandchildren.
Here is wishing you and your family a wonderful vacation filled with all relaxing and fun times together. Enjoy every moment!
    Thinking of you from Vermont.

  13. Thanks for all of the comments. The zipper pouches came from the Dollar Tree or Walmart. I've also found them at Target.
