Painting with Medicine Droppers & Liquid Watercolors

The girls really enjoyed using medicine droppers (they call them "shotmakers" since they pretend to give shots with them) and liquid watercolors. I diluted the liquid watercolor a little bit with water in an ice cube tray. I gave the girls white cardstock since the paper needed to be thick in order to not tear. They got right to work!

I love the effect of the medicine droppers. Very cool. I will have to try this with my kids.

This also works great with coffee filters and/or eye droppers. The color spreads on the filters, and makes neat patterns. You can even cut them first, into butterflies, leaves, flowers, hearts, whatever, and staple them onto a string after they've dried for a beautiful seasonal garland.
And using the eye droppers is great for fine motor skills too.
