Goodbye Floor Bed :(

O has slept on a floor bed since she was around 7 months old. After our trip to California, we moved her to the guest room bed since she slept so well on that trip. She has slept so much better, so we decided that its time for a real bed. My mom brought the bed tonight, and I hope we'll get it set up tomorrow. Its going to take up a lot more room than the floor bed, so I don't how we are going to arrange things. Hopefully, we'll be able to figure it out tomorrow.

  1. I am thinking of introducing my 5 1/2 month old to a floor bed soon but he would we sharing a room with his older (4) brother so we can have his room as our school room. Did you encounter any problems with your floor bed situation at all?

  2. Jenna- The only problem we had with the floor bed was that O liked to crawl off of it :) It wasn't really a problem. We had an angelcare monitor under the mattress, and it would go off whenever she crawled off. She always looked so shocked and guilty when we came in her room and found her pulling at the drawers on her dresser :) One thing that concerned me was making sure the mattress was firm enough. Also, when she was really little we didnt' have pillows or blankets on the bed. Hope that helps!

  3. Thanks for that Melissa! I just noticed that you had the ikea wagon/ walker thing in some of your photos. This has just come out in Australia and i was think of buying it. So another question- did you like it? Do you think it would be stable enough for an early walker?
    Thanks again for your advice!

  4. We love the ikea wagon/walker. I think we gave it to O for her 1st birthday, and she wasn't walking yet. You can tighten the wheels so that it doesn't move too fast, and that helps with early walkers a lot :)
