I've wanted to make a mini bowling game for O since I saw a similar game on a blog around Christmastime. I can't find the blog that I saw this on, so I apologize for not linking :(
To make this game, I ordered 10 mini bowling pins from Casey's Wood Supply. I painted the pins using acrylic craft paint and used paint pins to make the dots. After the paint dried, I painted the pins with a layer of mod podge to give them a matte finish. The wooden ball is from Hobby Lobby. This game will be one of O's handmade Christmas gifts. I'm glad to have another item from my list completed!
Very cool.

Love them! They are adorable! Why, oh why, do I have a 15-month old that eats small things? Why?
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I absolutely love how you make O's gifts homemade? We're preparing to begin our family (hopefully soon, we're moving back to the US), and I'm already excited about trying to do this. I even got my husband on board after showing him how you guys make her gifts. He called his dad to ask about wood toy making tools!
ReplyDeleteHow DO you come up with all these neat ideas for handmade presents? I would love to find some creative ideas from my youngest, who will be 3 in a week, who has some developmental delays. If you have any websites or resources that help inspire you, I'd love to know!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your homemade gift list??!! :)
ReplyDeleteMost of my ideas for handmade gifts come from other blogs. I also love to look at toys on Etsy for inspiration and at toy sites on the internet.
ReplyDeleteShannon- Here are a couple things that I want to try to make http://www.magiccabin.com/magiccabin/about/imagePop.asp?sImage=828170_fairyphoto and http://www.magiccabin.com/magiccabin/about/imagePop.asp?sImage=828170_woodlandphoto
These dolls will go with her treehouse dollhouse that Santa Claus is bringing her. Also, on the list are felt Christmas cookies, Christmas pjs, Christmas pillowcase, rool-up hopscotch mat, embroidered doll, and a balancing game. There may be more, but I don't have the list with me :)
