Our Family...In Miniature

Here's another one of O's handmade birthday gifts. I really did not enjoy painting these dolls, and I'm so glad to be finished! I painted the four of us (Elliott, O, Little Kicker, and me) and my niece, M. I'd love for O to have dolls representing the rest of our immediate family, but I'm not looking forward to painting them :)

  1. I will make them for you!!! I made some of these for my girls for Christmas and I loved the painting part. I am not crafty in the least but that is right up my alley. Seriously, if you tell me what size dolls you are using I will make them. I have some of the 3" tall ones with "dresses," some of the 2" tall ones that are shaped like standard vintage Little People, and some of the teeny (1.5"?) ones with "dresses." jen.diagnosisurine@gmail.com

  7. I am truly amazed at the effort you put into things for your little girl! Truly! You inspire me to be more crafty! I thought I was already, but you have so many more great ideas. I love that you would paint those little dolls and put that much effort into the detail and not even enjoy it. I also adore all your homemade gift ideas! That is right up our alley and matches our goal for spending less money on toys, and focusing more on "natural" items instead of battery powered plastic toys.

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Thanks for the comments!

Jen- I may have to take you up on that :) Right now I'm trying to convince everyone that it would be so meaningful if they each paint their own peg person, so we'll see...

Shanna- I've found the wood pieces at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Casey's Wood Products (online).

Mary Anne- I used acrylic craft paint, and I painted over that with a layer of mod podge to give them a finished look and to protect the paint.
