Paint Your Own Dollhouse

I've put together a "Paint Your Own Dollhouse" kit for a couple of little girls on our list this year. Included in the kit are an unfinished dollhouse (it's marketed as a cd holder and sold in the unfinished wood section at Michael's), a family of unfinished peg dolls, and craft paint. I hope the little girls who receive this gift will have lots of creative fun with it!

  4. I took inspiration from your painted peg dolls from last year (?), and painted a family for each of my 2 little cousins. For the house, I bought a little magnetic-lid wooden box (painted to look like a house). But I LOVE that CD case...I think I'll get that to do for my 3 year old!

  5. *gasp*! I just bought some peg people families from http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35462695 the other week after seeing a post from you about your little family. I am doing a family for my nieces but wondered about an inexpensive house. This will be PERFECT! Thanks again for great ideas!

  8. Thanks, everyone! I don't have one of these kits for O yet, but I think I may put one together for her for Easter. You can find the peg dolls at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and online at Casey's Wood Supply. I think it would also be fun to include a bag of fabric scraps and scrapbook paper for more fun, but I decided to make it simple this time :)

  10. Brilliant! Thanks for the idea, Melissa! I have a huge bag of wooden peg dolls (bought wholesale) that I have to paint up soon. To have them with this cute little dollhouse/CD holder is even better.
