After seeing O have some difficulty getting her art supplies out of the tote, I decided to rearrange things. After she woke up from her nap yesterday, she was VERY excited to see the new arrangement. She kept saying "ook (look), mama! ook, mama!" She was especially excited about the markers in the blue mug since buh-looooo (blue) is her favorite color! She's been making lots of art lately :)
I too think that this arrangement is much better...:) Miri
ReplyDeleteHey! Where did you get the colored pencils? JC's teacher has regular pencils in her classroom like that. I think they are fantastic and would love to have colored as well as regular.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's definitely better :)
ReplyDeleteBecca- The pencils came with an art set from IKEA. It was super cheap!
Love all the items down low. The prepared environment is awesome. Love the birds going up the stairs too. Blue is my daughter's favorite color right now too. Everything is blue. If only we saw more blue tractors around here!
ReplyDeleteI just made an art area this week too. It's in the garage so she can't get to it anytime but when we go out there it is available to her. I felt like that way I wouldn't end up with fingerpaints all over the walls, lol. I think it is really fun to watch her though as she can choose between molding clay, crayons, paint, and ect.
ReplyDeleteLike Professional Mommy, I have all of the art materials available, but in a room that is only accessible with an adult. With a toddler roaming the house, I just can't leave markers and scissors out.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your posting of the shelves and such! Are these all different shelves in different locations, are do you rotate what goes on one main shelf?
ReplyDeleteThat's cute that she says "buh-loo!" Our son says it that way and has taught his little sis to, as well. :)
Thanks, Megret. They are all different shelves that are right together. I'm already thinking of changing the playdoh shelf...she doesn't like to play with the playdoh at the shelf, so she moves everything all the way across the room to her frog table. So, I'll be rearranging again today :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how you have set everything up. It's all amazing. How do you manage with everything assessible at all times? Do you watch her every second? My kids spend a lot of time roaming on their own while I am cleaning, sewing, blogging. I can't imagine having everything being so reachable. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks!
ReplyDeletetwinlinebackers- Thanks for your comment! Having a REALLY small house makes it easier to have everything accessible for her. Our upstairs is just one big room (kitchen/den), so even if I am cleaning, cooking, blogging, or crafting I am still near her and can keep an eye on her. I also frequently remind her that she is only to paint and color on the paper that I provide for her. She understands that, but she still sometimes writes on herself which isn't a big deal since I also draw "tattoos" on her with markers (at her request!). So far she hasn't taken the paint or markers off the shelf, but I've had the shelf set up for less than a week, so we shall see...
